Factuals: Galvarino was a Chilean Mapuche who lived in the 1500's. He commanded an army in the Arauco War against the Spanish. He led the first wave of defense against the Conquistadors, but due to a lack of technology his fellow warriors fell in battle. Galvarino was captured as a hostage, but not killed. The Spaniards wanted to send a message. They chopped Galvarino's hands off and sent him on his way back to his Mapuche. His bravery was second to none. Lusting for vengeful justice he not only inspired his tribe, but he would still fight alongside them. He strapped blades to his wrists and led the squad into battle for his motherland! Unfortunately, the last of the Mapuche were killed in that second wave of defense due to the lack of formidable weapons against the Spanish. On the other hand, no pun intended, his courageous efforts and character live today. X-Men's Wolverine is based on the bladed hands of Galvarino. One of the coldest to ever live!
